I WROTE A BOOK!

I feel very lucky to have lived a life ‘off the beaten track’, very rich in experience, and I wish the same life richness for everyone. My Atlantic challenge was a rollercoaster from start to finish, teaching me so much about myself and the traits I see as six keys to success. Eighteen months on, the time feels right to share my life lessons and deep reflections.

I’m a 27-year-old feminist woman, ocean rower, adventurer, triple ironman athlete, with a scatty CV having been through a quarter-life crisis. I’m writing about my sporting journey – one of sacrifice, resilience, and huge fulfilment – in the hope that it brings inspiration to you reading this, whoever you are and whatever stage of life you’re at. I hope my “normality” makes this relatable, and I hope I strike a balance of the fun “work hard, play hard” ethic with the serious tones of why I do what I do. Strap in… it’s going to be a wild ride.

On the 21st January 2024, a team of four women moored their boat in Antigua after 39 days, 12 hours, and 25 minutes rowing 3000 miles across the Atlantic Ocean, making them the fastest British female crew in history to complete the remarkable endeavour.
 

Facing relentless sleep deprivation and unpredictable challenges, the journey was one of utmost resilience. While on the water crew member Eleanor Reynolds spent her downtime journalling: documenting some of the key highlights of the crossing and the raw emotions she felt during her time at sea.
 

There She Rows combines some of those journal entries with Ellie’s reflections on what it took to get the team ready for such a huge mission. It also covers her incredible story of overcoming an eating disorder, managing the pressures of the panic years and being an ordinary girl who does extraordinary things.
