HIKES, BIKES AND BOATS

I was born and raised in Herefordshire in an outdoorsy family - I grew up riding bikes around the lanes, being dragged out to the hills on my weekends and crawling through corn fields with my younger sister. I did a lot of different sports through school; I loved them all and couldn't commit to one so I was never particularly good at anything! I fell fully in love with hiking and mountains doing my Gold DofE in college, then at university became totally obsessed with triathlon. Lockdown found me a love of bikepacking, but after completing the Ironman World Champs in Kona, I turned my attention to ocean rowing. Signing up to row the Atlantic having never set foot in a rowing boat, I embarked on a wild journey of challenge and resilience.

I’m a really quite ordinary young woman who’s said yes to the right things, created opportunities, seized opportunities, got lucky more than once admittedly, but been through a whole lot to get to where I am. I want to inspire others to go out and chase the kind of endeavours I have, because there’s a big world waiting out there.
